HISTIO HISTORIES (The Big Booklet of Histio Kids and Adults) In coordination with THE BIG MEETING being held in Cleveland, Ohio July 9, 2006, a book of family stories is being assembled for families with children and adults that have histiocytosis. The book will be titled Histio Histories (The Big Booklet of Histio Kids and Adults) and will feature the stories and pictures of children and adults with histiocytosis from across the country. Previous histiocytosis meetings have opened with each family taking time to tell their story. This booklet will replace family introductions during THE BIG MEETING. Each family will be able to read stories about the families at the meeting and those who are not able to attend. The books will be yours to keep. This will give all of us an opportunity to learn from and about other families. If you cannot or will not be attending THE BIG MEETING you can still submit your story and receive a copy of the book. I hope to get as many families as possible to participate. Please spread the word in your area or at your clinic. If you would like to have your story included in the booklet you can either email or mail your information. If you mail your pictures and would like to have them returned, please write your name and address on the back of the pictures. These booklets, and all the information provided for them, will be given to all families attending THE BIG MEETING. Families that are unable to attend THE BIG MEETING, but submit their story, will also receive a copy. Requested Information: Pictures (one or two pictures of your child and/or family or adult) Names (child and parents - only first names will be used) Location (city, state) Date of Diagnosis Diagnosis (where and what) Contact information (email address, website) Will you be attending The Big Meeting? Please write the following information in 1-2 pages: How did you find out that your child had histiocytosis? What treatment has or is your child or the adult receiving? Anything else you would like to include or share? Other required information: The following information will remain private and will not appear in the booklet. A signed photo release for all pictures submitted for the booklet. Address, phone number and full name of person submitting the information - for additional contact and mailing purposes only. UPDATE - The first version of the Histio Histories book is complete and printed! The first set was given out at THE BIG MEETING! The next set will be mailed to those families who are in thh book but were unable to attend the meeting. The books should be mailed by the secound week in August.
